Impish electro-poppers Hot Chip have unveiled the first single from their forthcoming In Our Heads LP.

Hot Chip haven’t sounded this immersed in club culture since their debut album Coming On Strong. Over a lithe electro bassline, the band trigger snatches of house diva vocals and repeatedly chant the words “let’s sweat!”. Lyrically, ‘Night And Day’ is arch bordering on barmy: “I like Zapp not Zappa/So please quit your jibber-jabber”. After the starry-eyed melancholia of One Life Stand, it’s good to hear Hot Chip getting freaky again.

The single will emerge with a promising-sounding remix from 2 Bears featuring Trim, plus a new track titled ‘Jelly Babies’. In Our Heads is due on June 11- have a peek at the cover art below.
