Ifan Dafydd has remixed Lianne La Havas.

A British singer/songwriter, La Havas was nominated for the BBC Sound of 2012 award – eventually won by Michael Kiwanuka – and is preparing the release of her debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough, for release this year.

Dafydd meanwhile, made a splash on the strength of last year’s morbidly timed, Amy Winehouse-sampling ‘No Good’ single and follow-up ‘Treehouse’. Most of the discussion surrounding Dafydd has been in regard to the similarities between him and James Blake, and they’re still there – the way he pitches the vocals, the way he filters the synths, the reverb – and it’s frustrating, because he’s clearly remarkably talented; just a little too indebted for comfort. We’d argue that this remix, in fact, is one of the most affecting songs that Dafydd’s released yet, and when he finds his own voice, he’s going to really be something special.
