Today is Prince’s birthday. By way of oblique tribute, we’re pleased to feature new material by a similarly eccentric and flamboyant artist – Danny Wolfers.

Wolfers has released analogue-heavy techno under a phalanx of names (random pick: The Psychic Stewardess), but remains best known for his prolific output under the Legowelt moniker. Continuting a year that’s already seen him drop an EP inspired by John Nettles series Bergerac and sample Star Trek, Wolfers is ramping up his Chicago Shags project, a collaboration with Orgue Electronique (aka Brian Chinetti).

As Juno Plus report, the pair have a debut EP due on M>O>S later this month, titled The Family Album. The band name is a sly tribute to socialogical-experiment-cum-girlgroup The Shaggs (if you don’t know their bizarre story, it’s well worth investigation). The duo, who specialise in dinky analogue house and techno, have previously released material on Bunker and Strange Life Recordings. You can listen to the EP in full below.
