dBridge, like his comrades Boddika and Jon Convex, has made an incremental shift from d’n’b towards slower, house-indebted styles.

A new online release suggests that the Bad Company lynchpin isn’t averse to taking the tempo down even further. The producer has unexpectedly released a free 12 track compilation of hip-hop instrumentals, of all things.

Resident Advisor point towards a post on the website for dBridge’s own Exit Records which outlines the rationale for the release: “As some of you may know I’m a big fan of Native Instruments Maschine. Over the last year or so that I’ve owned it I’ve been knocking up some hip-hop loops for fun, so rather than them gathering dust on my computer I thought I’d share some of them with you”.

The dBridge Vs Maschine Vol. 1 tracks range from 72 to 111 bpm, and dart from The Printing Press-style ephemera (‘The Curt’) to Samiyam-style mutant head-nod (‘We R U 2’). For dBridge fans, it’s a treasure trove of curiosities, and some of this stuff really isn’t too bad. Click here to download the compilation. The tracklisting – and, rather helpfully, the bpm data – are available below.
