You wait all week for a cross-generational Big K.R.I.T. collaboration, and then two come along at once.

We’ve already nodded towards Big Boi’s Big K.R.I.T.-featuring ‘Gossip’ today, and now it’s Juicy J’s turn to play uncle to the Mississippi native. K.R.I.T. has flung up ‘Knock You Out’ onto his Soundcloud, a new track from the Three 6 Mafia don featuring K.R.I.T’s production talents.

Juicy J, as Juicy J is wont to do, extols the chemical lifestyle in his inimitable sing-song lilt. The instrumental, however, is the real point of interest. The intro nods directly back to the early Three 6 Mafia days, and the beat – eerie, head-down, ultra synthetic – sounds oddly like K.R.I.T. attempting to cover a Mystic Stylez cut. Still, this being K.R.I.T., ‘Knock You Out’ is far too glitzy to ever sound like a straight pastiche. Click below to stream or download.
