Lil B affiliate Keyboard Kid 206 – essentially Based’s answer to Xenomania – apparently knows his cult Nineties TV.

The Transition, Keyboard Kid’s recent release for Donky Pitch, saw the producer on agitated form. The antsy textures of ‘WelcomeX’ and ‘The Most’ barely resemble hip-hop at all. If araabMUZIK’s Electronic Dream flirted with trance, ‘LongLiveSwag’ zooms straight for fourth base. The new video for lead track ‘Based Exorcism’, however, is much more interested in nostalgic thrills than futureshocks.

The short sees our Kid’s track serving as the soundtrack to a swagged out version of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks – we challenge you to surpress a whoop when the ‘Welcome To BasedWorld’ sign pops up. The clip doesn’t quite deliver on the promise of the amazing first twenty seconds, essentially just becoming a faithful (and rather pointless) simulacra of key moments from the series. Still, there’s lots of fun to be had for heads and geeks alike.
