Matthew Dear’s latest LP Beams saw the droll producer cut loose – if not quite break free – from his somewhat uptight presence on record.

In an album of slightly stilted disco cuts, ‘Earthforms’ was one of the more supple numbers. The track now has a psychedelic new video, directed by video artist Morgan Beringer, and it’s a similarly fluid proposition.

The video is apparently an attempt to replicate the experience of stumbling through the woods whilst blasted on shrooms (you’ll never guess it watching the clip). The results are part ‘wayward psychonaut’, part ‘Windows screensaver’ – but they’ve very pretty nonetheless.
