The budding alt-pop star shares a dusty, lovelorn video for her country ballad ‘Sad Dream.’

On her latest EP, Ghosts, the 20-year-old Sky Ferreira flirts with various modes, refusing to be pigeonholed by genre. Unlike the alt-rock of ‘Red Lips’ or 80s sentimentalism of ‘Everything is Embarrassing,’ ‘Sad Dream’ is a simple country ballad, and the video, directed by Grant Singer, is suitably low-concept and cinematic.

Ferreira and a paramour ride a pick-up truck across country roads, shoplift some booze, and mope around the surroundings until their relationship falls apart. Ghosts is out now on Capitol; Ferreira has planned a brief US tour in support.
