It’s a California tag-team on the latest track from old school aficionados Pac Div.

Pac Div debuted with last year’s clean-cut The DiV LP, which had its virtues (production from No I.D.) and its flaws (an Asher Roth feature). The crew have moved back into view with throwback cut ‘Cross Trainers’, and they’ve brought some Cali notables along for the ride.

The track’s on a classic boom-bap tip, complete with choppy cuts and Mysterons-style synth wobbles. Regular Exile collaborator Blu knocks out an assured verse, and spotlight-hogger Kendrick Lamar takes the victory lap. It’s great fun to hear Lamar cutting loose in this sort of jolly environment; in contrast to the expansive, multi-layered instrumentals on Good Kid, m.A.A.d City, this is a raw, dumb riot.

Pac Div’s GMB drops tomorrow, and features guest spots from Mac Miller and Kurupt. Click below to listen, courtesy of Complex.
