Trevino – or, as older hands might refer to him, Marcus Intalex – has a fine new release on the way for Martyn’s 3024 imprint.

The Tactical Manoeuvre EP has a couple of tough acts to follow, namely Jacques Greene’s Ready and Jon Convex’s Lied To Be Loved. Happily, ‘Spin Away’ suggests that the techno-via-d’n’b producer is happy to step up to the plate. It’s a veritable buffet of different textures: the bish-bosh drum programming hits hard and fast; ornamental synth lines twinkle at the top of the mix; a deformed acid line bucks and writhes. The track comes with an eerie animated video, a grim children’s cartoon damaged by radiation exposure.

Tactical Manoeuvre drops on November 19.
