Drummer-turned-producer Hello Skinny has been given a fine rework by the estimable Mr. Ralph Cumbers.

Skinner has put in time as a drummer for Matthew Herbert, and the great eccentric subsequently honoured Skinner’s service by remixing his ‘Aquarius’ track. Skinner’s now been remixed by another notable multi-instrumentalist, trombonist and beat wizard Ralph ‘Bass Clef’ Cumbers. Cumbers’ version of ‘Knot Blue’ keeps the tropical flourishes of Skinner’s original intact, but adds all sorts of analogue touches and strange percussive detail. As per Cumbers’ excellent recent ‘Dawn Chorus Pedal’, it’s eerie and danceable at the same time.
