Since early 2012, masked rapper Cas – formerly known as grime MC Castro – has been uploading a series of death and drugs-fixated videos to YouTube.

Horrorcore with a healthy amount of self-deprecation and humour to it, Cas’s lyrical focus has shifted from selling drugs to getting completely lost in them, and his anecdotes of waking up in puddles of vomit (see last year’s ‘Drugs Don’t Work’) are a welcome antidote to the overexcited approach to Molly and painkillers in certain corners of US hip-hop right now.

On new cut ‘All Hallows’, Cas teams up with Danny Brown producer Skywlkr, throws down to the Conservative Party, shouts out Zomby and is coming for someone called Nigella (Lawson?). His new mixtape Commercial is expected to see release this year.
