It’s one of the great musical tragedies of the 21th century that more people haven’t taken The Bug’s lead and made more dubstep tracks with yardie flow MCs. 

If ‘Skeng’ and ‘Poison Dart’ didn’t prove beyond all doubt that it’s a winning combination, then Skream’s ‘Check It’ and DVA’s ‘Bullet A’Go Fly’ should have. It’s a formula that’s remained oddly rare though, so it’s a pleasure to see it return on Skream and Friction’s ‘Kingpin’, featuring past Magnetic Man collaborator P Money, Scrufizzer and London city warlord Riko on vocals.
