Hear Ryan Hemsworth’s edit of Lana Del Rey’s ‘Summertime Sadness’, with an emphasis on the ‘Sadness’.

LDR’s dusky original was one of the highlights on the expanded Paradise Edition of Born To Die. A promising snippet of Hemsworth’s take on the track started doing the rounds earlier this week, and the producer has now unleashed the full version of his remix. For sure, Hemsworth’s edit lacks the blasted romance of the original, but it’s a neat exercise in Shlohmo-style pomp. Breezy intro aside, it’s Wedidit to the core – gloomy, slightly irreverent and never shy to bung in a hi-hat.

Del Rey is currently at work on a follow-up to last year’s Born To Die – a record we were rather fond of.
