Joey Bada$$ channels Souls Of Mischief on '95 'Til Infinity'

Pro Era bossman Joey Bada$$ endures a long dark night of the soul on the latest cut from his Summer Knights tape.

’95 Til Infinity’, produced by Lee Bannon, is a languid and lovely joint, channeling some of the whiskey-at-4am feel of the Souls Of Mischief classic it pulls its title from. In contrast to comparatively nimble lead track ‘Word Is Bond’, Bada$$ declamatory flow, haunted by the spectre of KRS-One, sounds at once urgent and authoritative.

As HipHopDX note, Summer Knights  – originally slated to drop today – has now been postponed until July 1. The new cover art is below. As it happens, Souls Of Mischief have just announced that they’ll be performing classic album ’93 Til Infinity across the US later this year. FACT recently sat down with Lee Bannon; head here for a brief guide to the producer’s work.
