The Hyperdub boss unveils a holographic collaboration with The Spaceape.

Kode9 collaborated with designer and virtual world-builder Lawrence Lek for the visual aspect of his new album Nothing, coming up with the concept of the ‘Nøtel’, an “evacuated, fully automated, luxury hotel” which operates in some of kind of creepy, post-human scenario.

Lek has been developing his virtual Nøtel for a planned AV tour with Kode9 next year, and ahead of the album’s release on November 13 through Hyperdub he’s unveiled a trailer for the project, which travels through a room of the empty hotel.

The video is soundtracked by ‘Third Ear Transmission’, an album track featuring the late Spaceape, who also appears in holographic form in Lek’s uncanny interior. Look out for the Hyperdub cat, too. [via Pitchfork]
