D'Angelo returns to Europe for "The Second Coming" tour

With his album no where in sight, the elusive singer heads to Europe.

Living R&B legend D’Angelo will return to Europe for the first time since 2012 with what he’s calling, in self-aggrandizing fashion, “The Second Coming” tour.

Beginning in February 2015, the singer will visit Switzerland, Germany, and France before making three stops in the UK and then returning to the continent. The tour promises to showcase D’Angelo not just as a singer, but as a band leader, guitarist and keyboardist as he mixes in new versions of his hits with cover songs and new music. He’ll be joined by bassist Pino Palladino, guitarists Jesse Johnson and Isaiah Sharkey, keyboardist Cleo “Pookie” Sample and drummer John Blackwell.

A follow-up to 2000’s Voodoo was reportedly close to finished, but despite Questlove’s promises, it has not materialized. For more D’Angelo, watch his fascinating, 90-minute conversation with RBMA.
