Designer for hire Tom Scholefield also makes music as Konx-om-Pax.

As reported, Scholefield is set to release his debut full-length Regional Surrealism on Planet Mu in just under a month’s time. As per 2010’s Optimo Tracks release, the album is set to be an intricate capriccio of analogue textures and distorted electronics.

In the run-up to the release, Dummy have a stream of an unreleased track from the Regional Surrealism sessions. The wiggy bagpipe synths and clattering drums bring Hype Williams’ Untitled to mind, and there’s a touch of Beefheart in Scholefield’s unreconstructed scuzz. As the track progresses, it becomes ever more discordant and distorted before finally crash-landing in a squall of feedback. Click here to listen.
