When we spoke  to Konx-om-Pax earlier this week, he talked up the likes of Zoviet France and Boards Of Canada as influences.

A new mixtape, produced with Konflict’s Rob Data, suggests that the Glaswegian producer also has a soft spot for gaudier pleasures. The ’48K Mixtape Vol. 001′ has been assembled in honour of Glasgow’s 48K rave night, where Konx-om-Pax and Rob Data are both resident DJs. The mix was cobbled together using only 12″ vinyl, and there’s a corresponding looseness to proceedings. There’s a lot of super-familiar fare here (LFO, 2 Bad Mice) but it’s as peppy a wake-up call as you could wish for on a Tuesday morning. The mixtape’s subtitle is ‘Amphetamine Tambourine’, which wallops the nail on the head. [via Dummy]
