Star Slinger and CFCF unveil two very different remixes of LOL Boys’ ‘Changes’

Ostensibly defunct production duo LOL Boys are set to issue a new remix EP.

‘Changes’, released earlier this year on Friends of Friends, was one of their subtlest (and, arguably, most effective) jams. The track has already had a notable remix from Shlohmo, who injected some serious menace into the track.

Friends Of Friends have now invited a host of producers to go to work on ‘Changes’. The Changes Remixes EP includes a remix from US garage don Todd Edwards, and Wedidit member Groundislava does his dreamy 8-bit thing. The collection also features revisions from prolific remixer Star Slinger and Canadian sound-sculptor CFCF, both of which are available to stream below.

Star Slinger’s version is a spangled funky house number, full of tropical signifiers and air-horns. CFCF’s, meanwhile, shows himself to be a right little smartass, sampling Bruce Hornsby’s ‘The Way It Is’ – featured on, you guessed it, Tupac’s ‘Changes’.

The EP is available to download over at Bandcamp from October 16.
