Over the last half-decade, Pangaea has been a thoroughly reliable source of wonderfully supple bass-centric music.

Along with Ramadanman and Ben UFO, Pangaea helms the seminal Hessle Audio label. His personal output has matched his label’s talent for quality and diversity. As exemplified by his 2010 Pangaea EP, his back catalogue touches heavily on dubstep and breakbeat, with lighter nudges towards techno, house and 2-step.

Pangaea’s new disc, Release – eight tracks deep, but not quite an album – sees the producer on especially brittle, spartan form. It’s arguably his roughest, toughest release to date, and also happens to be the most expansive disc Hessle have put out so far. Sizeable snips of each track are now available to stream in full, courtesy of Hessle’s Soundcloud.

Release is due on October 29. Click here to read our review of the record.
