Lil Wayne protégé, Barbie obsessive and all-around nut job Nicki Minaj has announced details of her debut album.

Of course, in typical Minaj fashion a press release wouldn’t do. Instead, the New York rapper called a Ustream that involved her calling up phone numbers provided by chat room users, putting on a British accent and showing tons of cleavage. Obviously.

In the midst of all that, Minaj announced that her album would be titled Pink Friday and would be released on November 23. Note: that’s the Tuesday before Black Friday, which falls after Thanksgiving in the US, and is traditionally a time when Americans start their Christmas shopping. Christmas number one it is then.

Pink Friday will be Minaj’s first solo album, but it’s far from fans’ first full-length experience of her: she’s released three successful mixtapes since 2007, and starred on last year’s collaborative Young Money CD. As far as a tracklist goes, that’s still to be announced, but apparently recent hit single ‘Your Love’ will feature, and past hit ‘Massive Attack’ won’t.
