This month, the Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble (formally known as simply Brandt Brauer Frick) will release their sophomore album, Mr Machine.

Attempting to straddle the line between home listening and more club-focussed fare, BBF always seemed slightly torn between their love of the live arena and a sense of obligation to dance music, so it makes sense that with the adding of the Ensemble, they’re now a 10-piece act that’s almost 100% acoustic – bar a Moog synth, which appears on Mr Machine amplified through a bass guitar amp.
