Against the Clock is a series where we give an artist 10 minutes in the studio and see what they come up with. You can watch all the past episodes here.

Up next: Scottish maximalist Lockah. Earlier this year Lockah returned with And Blue Brindle Too, an EP that evoked 80s pop tunes by adding live drums and guitars to the mix. This month he released his second album for Donky Pitch, It Gets More Cloudy, where along with live instruments he got to grips with some vintage synths as he recorded in a remote Sussex studio.

Above you can watch Lockah’s Against The Clock, which was filmed in his Glasgow studio. In 10 minutes he builds a glossy, 80s-inspired track with a Roland TR-8 drum machine and an Arturia Microbrute SE analog synth.
