Sweatshop returns to East Village this weekend with a special UK performance from Blackdisco DJs Lovefingers (NYC) and Nitedog (LA).
Lovefingers in particular is one of FACT’s favourite DJs: there are few people on our radar with taste as wide-reaching, discerning and flamboyant as his, and for evidence you’d do well to check out his blog, which is full of mixes and freely downloadable tracks and edits.
Blackdisco also run an acclaimed West Coast series of basement parties and an edit series which has seen contributions from Lee Douglas, Soft Rocks, Julien Love and more. Frankly, a chance to see them do their thing in the East Village basement (good sound: check, alright drinks prices: check, vaguely intimate: check) is unmissable.
Upstairs Sweatshop will be welcoming History Clock label boss Nathan Gregory Wilkins, as well as People In The Sky’s Bi Bop and Colouring In frontman Henry Bennett. Entry is £5 before 11, £8 after, and proceedings run from 11pm ’til 4am. More details here.
