Sweden’s excellent Wildbirds & Peacedrums will release Retina, the first of a pair of new numbered, limited edition white vinyl-only EPs, in May.

The second EP, Iris, will be out in June, and then the two EPs will be compiled as an album Rivers, for release via double-CD and download in August. Retina is comprised of five new songs, one of which is today’s Daily Download, ‘Fight For Me’.

The songs were recorded in a church in Iceland by Mariam Wallentin and Andreas Werliin and the 12-strong Schola Cantorum Reykjavík Chamber Choir, and include contributions from acclaimed Bedroom Community man Ben Frost and Hildur Guðnadóttir (whose 2009 album for Touch, Without Sinking, was one of our faves of the year).
