Liam Gallagher gatecrashes Manchester City press conference, digs out Sir Alex Ferguson

Oh, Liam Gallagher. The music may have turned sour years back, but if there’s ever a man you can rely on for mid-week entertainment, it’s him.

Following his beloved Manchester City’s victory over arch-rivals Manchester United last night (during which Gallagher was constantly filmed giving it the big one in his City shirt – “Gallagher” printed on the back over a number 11, naturally), the Beady Eye and former Oasis singer crashed the team’s post-match press conference. Arriving in the press room before City captain Vincent Kompany – who scored the match’s winning goal – Liam explained that it was Kompany who’d invited him to the match:

“He [Kompany] invited me to his box. He scored a blinder, his family is mega and his sister is really cool. Nice one bro. Viva la Belgium”

Even better, he then had a dig at United manager Alex Ferguson (“He must have been blinded by the lights. He must have been on the whisky too much”), claimed that City manager Roberto Mancini was “nearly as cool as me”, and later referred to meeting Argentian football diety Diego Maradona as “Maradona shaking the hand of God”.

You can watch some fairly shaky footage of the conference below.
