Slackk undertakes Raw Missions on new four-track EP

Slackk will release a new EP, Raw Missions, at the end of this month.

Titled in tribute to the former East London pirate radio station Raw Mission, it finds the Liverpool-hailing producer – who, as well as operating as Slackk, makes glitterball footwork under the name Patrice and Friends – looking back to the synthed-out classic grime of artists like Ruff Sqwad, DJ Oddz and Waifer.

Slackk, obviously, has a history in grime: before releasing music, he curated the website Grimetapes, an archive of pirate radio recordings which is sadly discontinued. Local Action [disclosure: a label run by FACT’s Tom Lea] will release Raw Missions on May 21, with the first pressing housed in a full sleeve [above].

You can stream a clip of its lead track, ‘Blue Sleet’, below.

Raw Missions tracklist:

A1. Blue Sleet
A2. 90 Years
B1. Fat City
B2. Almost Transparent
