Having previously put themselves under the lens for 2005 series Being Bobby Brown, the Houston family are set to return to the gaudy world of reality television.

The Guardian report that The Houston Family Chronicles will follow Houston’s nearest and dearest over ten one-hour episodes. The series will focus on Whitney’s brother Gary and her manager/sister-in-law Pat as they take on guardianship of Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina. Whitney’s former husband Bobby Brown (who also has his now reality show in the works) has expressed misgivings about the show, claiming he would “question it” but stating that he trusted Bobbi Kristina to “make the right decisions in her life”.

Lifetime, the network responsible for the show, claim that production was already underway before Whitney passed away in February. The network make the following elevator pitch for the show: “They [must] take on their greatest challenge supporting and guiding Bobbi Kristina as she faces the world alone, without the one person she relied on the most, her mother”. Crass, much?
