Last night, the xx played the second of three recently announced, intimate London dates – you know, the ones with the whole lottery thing.

The group opened the Chats Palace show with a new song – one minute of which has been captured and uploaded to YouTube [via promoters Eat Your Own Ears]. It sounds pretty classic xx to us on first impression: sparse percussion, languid keys and quietly devotional lyrics. You can watch it below.

The London band’s second album, the follow-up to 2010’s Mercury Prize-winning xx, is expected this year.
