The next edition of Tempa’s Dubstep Allstars mix-CD series will be mixed by Silkie and Quest.

Pretty much the defining dubstep mix series, past contributions to Dubstep Allstars have come from Distance, Kode9 & Spaceape, and Pearson Sound (then Ramadanman). With the genre now riding a worldwide wave of popularity, and – in the view of many – not bearing much resemblance to what it started off as, Silkie and Quest feel like throwbacks. Their immaculately produced tracks have found home on Mala’s Deep Medi label, and Silkie in particular has a rep as one of dubstep’s most thoughtful producers.

Their Dubstep Allstars mix is a bit of a mission statement, almost entirely made up of Deep Medi material, though there’s also nods to Skream’s Disfigured Dubz imprint and Joker’s Kapsize. Mala’s ‘Eyes VIP’ also makes an appearance.

Tempa will release Dubstep Allstars Vol. 09 on July 23.
