Sheffield bash Tramlines is returning for its fourth iteration – and it’s still absolutely free.
The ticketless event is spread across venues all over the city, including a 7,500 capacity main stage, and runs from July 20-22. Sheffield Universtiy will be configured as the ‘Dance World’, featuring festival regular Toddla T. His carnivalesque, bass-heavy session should set just the right mood for the event. Croydon hero Benga, Jackmaster and Oris Jay all join him. Red Bull Music Studios Live will also be stopping by at the venue, and are bringing Julio Bashmore, Oneman and L-Vis 1990 along for the ride.
Butterz are hosting a huge grime event, featuring Elijah & Skilliam, Champion, Swindle and Logan Sama. The Devonshire Green stage will feature spots from Roska and Grooverider. UK hip-hop mainstay Roots Manuva and top-notch toaster Ms Dynamite will represent the Saturday night on the stage. Sheffield O2 Academy, meanwhile, welcomes Congo Natty, Off Me Nut and R8 Records and Rob Gibson of Warp Records. Other acts appearing include Midland, xxxy, MJ Cole and Raff Daddy (of The 2 Bears).
