Sex Pistols' 'Pretty Vacant' reissued on picture disc

The Sex Pistols’ ‘Pretty Vacant’ will be reissued as a picture disc 7″ on July 2.

The third single from the group, following ‘Anarchy in the UK’ and ‘God Save the Queen’, this reissue marks the song’s 35th birthday. It hit the top 10 upon its original 1977 release, and was the first time the Pistols were allowed on Top of the Pops – though so the story goes, the Pistols did not actually appear in the BBC’s studio, and the footage was broadcast without their permission. As with the original single, the b-side is a cover of The Stooges’ ‘No Fun’.

The Pistols’ Never Mind the Bollocks is also due for reissue this September, for what seems like the thousandth time (but probably isn’t). 3500 copies of the ‘Pretty Vacant’ reissue have been produced, with no repress scheduled.
