The Vinyl Factory’s Chelsea gallery will play host to the London premiere of two photo series by Lyle Owerko.

Radio Simba and The Streets have never before been show in the US capital, and for this exhibition – presented by The Vinyl Factory in collaboration with Whisper – they’ll be accompanied by the third iteration of Owerko’s acclaimed The Boombox Project.

As you might expect from its title, The Boombox Project showcases Owerko’s collection of vintage boomboxes; Radio Simba is a group of portraits of radio vendors in East Africa; and The Streets documents some of the cultural ephemera that Owerko has found on, yes, the streets of the United States.

As a whole the show examines “the passions and influences of music and cult objects from the globe”. A private view takes place at VF Chelsea on Thursday 5 July and the exhibition will continue through to August 4.
