Factory Floor ready debut album for DFA

Factory Floor will release their debut album through DFA Records.

The London trio of Gabriel Gurnsey, Dominic Butler and Nik Colk have been steadily releasing singles and EPs since 2008 – when they also played an early gig at FACT’s first ever takeover of North London’s Lock Tavern. The group have had numerous big co-signs in that time: New Order and Joy Division’s Stephen Morris has both remixed and produced them, while Nik Colk teamed up for a full album on Mute with Throbbing Gristle’s Chris and Cosey, under the name Carter Tutti Void.

In fact, it’s hard to believe that it’s taken this long for the group to release their first full-length record, but in early 2013 it will arrive. DFA – who will be preceding the album with a remix 12″ of Factory Floor’s last single, ‘Two Different Ways’, that features two remixes by Perc and one from Cabaret Voltaire’s Richard H. Kirk – may seem an odd fit for Factory Floor, but the New York label has released its fair share of noisier fare (Black Dice, Black Meteoric Star) to compliment the LCD Soundsystem and The Rapture records that it’s best known for.

The ‘Two Different Ways’ remix package will arrive on August 27 [via Juno].
