Urban Nerds are inviting one lucky competition winner to “be an Urban Nerd for the night” at their Carnival Special later this month.

Frankly, tickets for the event would be appealing enough: taking place on August 25 at the Scala, the Notting Hill warm-up will feature a stunning selection of talent including Breakage, DMZ dons Mala & Coki, Kode9, Jackmaster and Marcus Nasty, while The Heatwave hold down room two in typically tropical style with The Ragga Twins, Rinse FM’s Uncle Dugs, Terror Danjah and Champion in attendance. But the promoters have gone the extra mile (or several miles, really), with a selection of treats designed to transform you into the quintessential Urban Nerd. Not only will the lucky winner be gifted four VIP tickets to the Carnival special, but they’ll receive: one limited edition Nerds Carnival t-shirt, part of a hand-printed, limited run of 50; a New Era cap; a Rave Horn, and a bandana. And as if all that that wasn’t more than ample, they’re throwing in a Nintendo DS 3D with two games for good measure.

The crowning glory, though, is a pair of deluxe, handcrafted mesh sunglasses from cult Australian designers AM Eyewear, worth a whopping £178. AM Eyewear designs have graced the faces of the likes of Rihanna, Jay-Z and London’s very own Jessie Ware, so you know these will make you the envy of the rave – further info can be found here.

The T-shirt, horn, cap and glasses can all be picked up on the night of the event, while the Nintendo DS and bandana which will be sent to the winner afterwards.
