Courtney Love working on Kurt Cobain documentary

Last week, Courtney Love took to The Observer to shoot down rumors of a Nirvana musical (thankfully), saying “sometimes it’s best just to leave things alone.”

Never mind that, apparently: the New York Post reports that Love is helming a documentary about Kurt Cobain, to be directed by Brett Morgan, the man behind the Rolling Stones documentary Crossfire Hurricane.

“Courtney is the one that brought me into this,” said Morgan, adding that he and Love started discussing the project in 2007. “We’ve been trying to find the right time to put this film together and the time is now . . . Kurt was not only an amazing songwriter and musician, he was an incredible artist and filmmaker. So we are going to do the movie sort of like a third-person autobiography — [as] if Kurt was around and making a film about his life.”

The documentary is expected out in 2014 and we’re sure it will be an unbiased look at the tragic rock star’s life and death.
