Alex Zhang Hungtai – alias schlocky lo-fi strutter Dirty Beaches – has dropped more information about his plans for 2013.

Hungtai’s 2011 wonderful breakthrough Badlands sounded like Lux Interior fronting The Shadow Ring, and we won’t hear a bad word said against it. Bar a dour 7″ for Slow Boy Records and the occasional single, Hungtai kept quiet in 2011, although we caught rumblings that the Taiwanese emigre had a pair of LPs in the works.

As Exclaim report, more information has emerged about Hungtai’s movements in 2013. In a series of tweets, Hungtai revealed the titles of those two new discs, confirmed they’ll both arrive in 2013, and offered an update on their respective progress.

The first LP to see the light of day will be called Drifters, and is currently “in the mixing lab”. An almost entirely instrumental LP, titled Love Is The Devil, has also just been submitted to the label, and features only a single track with Hungtai’s spooky vocals. Both are due on San Diego label Zoo Music, who also confirmed the news.

Badlands‘ superlative ‘Horses’ is below.
