Hospital Productions have a 3xCS special edition of music by Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement.

The mysterious RSE have released a glut of tapes (all available digitally too) through Dominick Fernow’s label in the past year, including Black Magic Cannot Cross Water, which is soon to receive a vinyl reissue courtesy of Blackest Ever Black*. Exploring dark, droning ambiences, punctuated with minimal synth pulsations and suitably humid, unheimlich field recordings, these releases have prompted comparisons to the likes of Lustmord, Black Rain, Hospital’s own Lussuria and even John Carpenter’s most sparse and dread-infused soundtracks.

The new edition from Hospital, billed as “the return of yellow herb ambient” (whatever that means), features the 2xCS work The Plant With Many Faces, plus a bonus cassette entitled Folklore Venom; over 80 minutes of audio in total. The package also contains a Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement t-shirt (available in different sizes) and a “full size booklet”. Produced in an edition of just 99 copies, it is currently available to order only direct from Hospital Productions here.

*full disclosure: a label independently operated by FACT staff member Kiran Sande.
