Memphis punk Jay Reatard's work in Sector Zero to be posthumously released

Jay Retard’s work as drummer in Sector Zero is to be released.

Prolific til the end, Memphis musician Reatard – real name Jimmy Lee Lindsey Jr. – released countless records with countless different bands until his death from cocaine toxicity in 2008. Reatard remains best known for his solo work, releasing a series of 7″s singles and two albums on Matador (following a slew of releases on smaller labels, including the classic Blood Visions), but fans will point to his work with The Lost Sounds, The Reatards, Angry Angles and Nervous Patterns as some of his best.

This 7″ from Goner Records reissues two tracks by Sector Zero, a short-lived collaboration between Reatard (on drums), Zac Ives and Eric Friedl (co-owners of the Goner Records store), titled ‘Guitar Attack’ and ‘Hiding in my Car’. Both tracks were recorded in Reatard’s house with no overdubs, and will be released on February 26. You can stream ‘Guitar Attack’ below [via Exclaim].
