The killer of Brick Squad rapper Mario ‘Slim Dunkin’ Hamilton has been found guilty of aggravated assault.

Dunkin was fatally shot by fellow rapper Victor ‘Young Vito’ Hardimon on December 16, 2011 in Atlanta. The incident took place during a scuffle at a local recording studio, allegedly sparked by a row over a piece of candy. As revealed in the trial, an unarmed Hamilton apparently rushed at Hardimon, who subsequently shot the rapper at close range.

As the Atlanta Journal Constitution report, Hardimon has been sentenced to 25 years behind bars for the killing. Although Hardimon was acquitted of murder and felony murder, he was found guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was also convicted of possession of a handgun for use in a felony. Judge Craig Schawall gave the maximum possible sentence for the crime, noting that Hardimon had been implicated in a second incident involving a handgun in early 2011.

Waka Flocka Flame spoke about Hamilton’s death to FACT TV last year – peep below to watch.
