Watch RBMA's DFA documentary, Too Old To Be New, Too New To Be Classic

Red Bull Music Academy looks at the quintessential NYC label.

The 13-minute documentary, entitled 12 Years of DFA: Too Old To Be New, Too New To Be Classic, examines the genesis of the label in 2001, the DFA sound (“live drums and synthesizers”), and its audience (“a lot of dorky white people”).

Narrated by comedian/podcaster Marc Maron, the clip features DFA artists The Rapture, Juan Maclean, Holy Ghost!, LCD Soundsystem, The Crystal Ark, and more, along with DFA founders James Murphy, Tim Goldsworthy, and Jonathan Galkin.

Watch the documentary below. Red Bull Music Academy’s New York edition continues throughout the month of May.
