Arctic Monkeys announce fifth LP, AM; Josh Homme and John Cooper Clarke to feature

You sucked, you saw – and now the Arctic Monkeys are welcoming in the AM

As Pitchfork report, the four-piece are to release the follow-up to 2011’s Suck It And See in early September. Fifth LP AM has been produced by old mucker James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco, and will feature 12 tracks, including previously circulated cuts ‘R U Mine?’ and ‘Do I Wanna Know?’

Interestingly, AM boasts a guest spot from Queens Of The Stone Age man (and Humbug co-producer) Josh Homme. Ultra-interestingly, motormouthed punk poet John Cooper Clarke – the default go-to for critics cackhandedly attempting to find a point of comparison for Alex Turner c.2005 – will also make an appearance, as will Bill Ryder-Jones and Elvis Costello drummer Pete Thomas.

AM is due on September 9 through Domino; the tracklist is below. The Monkeys are currently preparing to headline Glastonbury Festival this weekend.

Tracklist:
1. Do I Wanna Know?
2. R U Mine?
3. One for the Road
4. Arabella
5. I Want It All
6 No. 1 Party Anthem
7. Mad Sounds
8. Fireside
9. Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?
10. Snap Out Of It
11. Knee Socks
12. I Wanna Be Yours
