The sad-soul poster boy sets a date for his sophomore opus.

The Weeknd‘s Abel Tesfaye has been through his fair share of controversy recently, mostly thanks to the suspected use of an unlicensed sample snipped from Portishead’s incredible ‘Machine Gun’ and inserted into Tesfaye’s own ‘Belong to the World’. Although this was later revealed to be not the case (spoiler: it was re-recorded), there’s still a peculiar air around Kiss Land that’s likely not to disperse until we hear the record in its entirety.

It was today revealed that the record would be released on September 10, and you can check the underwhelming cover below.

‘Belong to the World’ was reviewed in this week’s edition of the FACT Singles Club, check it out here. [via Pitchfork]
