New Order’s Bernard Sumner fractures leg, carries on tour regardless

The ‘Blue Monday’ singer shows stiff upper lip in the face of injury.

Hardly a week goes by without a band or artist canceling a tour thanks to some unforeseen injury or other, so it’s refreshing to hear a slightly different outcome. New Order frontman Bernard Sumner was diagnosed this week with a fractured leg, but inexplicably he’s set to go ahead with the rest of the band’s ongoing North American tour, despite revealing that “when I go on stage I am in pain and physically unable to give it my all.“

It’s unclear exactly how Sumner damaged his leg in the first place, but he humorously commented “As I was leaving a hotel one of the doormen said “Break a leg” apparently that’s just what I have done ouch!“

The remaining tour dates will be unchanged. [via Exclaim]
