Out of Control.

Billed as “the biggest purpose-built music and dance venue in the north of England,” Leeds superclub Control is due to swing open its doors to the public on September 7. The big draw here apart from the supposedly fantastic Funktion One soundsystem is the fact that the venue scored a coveted 24-hour license, which would suggest that Berghain-style revelry might be just around the corner.

Needless to say the club aren’t cutting any corners for the opening night, they’ve signed up Gatecrasher Birmingham’s Jamie Hartley to headline the main room, and he’ll be joined by Crossworld Vintage’s Tom Howson. Sheffield’s DJ Stoxx will be headlining the Geodome area, which is described as “a huge skeletal geodome with thousands of individually controllable LED lights.”
