Death Waltz to reissue John Carpenter's Assault On Precinct 13 score

The OST specialists re-team with John Carpenter and more for their next slate of releases.

Exclaim.ca reports that Spencer Hickman and company will reissue Carpenter’s influential Assault On Precinct 13 score. Previously, the label did similar work with the director’s The Fog, Escape From New York, and the scores he co-composed with Alan Howarth, Halloween and They Live.

Assault On Precinct 13 was last repressed in 2003 by French imprint Record Makers, but has since gone out of print. This version will be remastered and will feature new artwork by Jay Shaw; a release date has not been set but a trailer is below.

Additionally, the label has announced plans to release some lesser known scores, New York Ripper and Ms. 45, plus the music from The Shining-focused documentary Room 237. Last Halloween, FACT spoke with Hickman about the label and his plans for the future.
