Brick Squad over?

Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane took to Twitter over the weekend to diss Brick Squad and announce his departure from the collective in a round of eccentrically punctuated and occasionally impenetrable tweets.

“Fuck bricksquad im. Sucka free. 1017,” Gucci wrote, in an apparent reaction to accusations that he paid Young Vito’s legal fees during his trial for the murder of Brick Squad act Slim Dunkin.

Waka Flocka Flame, Waka’s cousin Frenchie and Wooh Da Kid all waded into the battle to trade shots at each other, with Frenchie revealing Gucci diss track ‘Sometimes’ on brand new Trapaholics mixtape Trap Music.

Who knows where things will go from here, but a dissolution of Brick Squad would likely be problematic for young signees Chief Keef and Young Scooter.

Update: Gucci’s meltdown has continued this afternoon with a brand new slew of Tweets (all hilariously punctuated and spaced, of course) where he fires barbs at the industry (“Tell craig n julia suc my dick at Atlantic records”), his fellow rappers (“Fuck jeezy. Tip. Gotti. Waka.Nicki minaj drake d a Wooh.frenchy 2 chainz coachk kkaior eminem oj rock Quavo takeoff cardo dam g”), and highlights his conquests (the less said about this the better, just head here and look for yourself).

The only rapper to get away scot free seems to be Young Scooter (“I swear to God me and scooter the last real authentic street niggas left”). We’re not sure exactly how Drake and Nicki Minaj ended up involved, but needless to say Gucci’s timeline right now is both utterly horrifying and entirely captivating.

Update 2: Minaj has now responded to Gucci’s allegations with the straightforward Tweet of “Jesus, strike me dead right now if I ever had sex with this animal.” That settles that then, right?

Update 3: Both Tyga and Nicki Minaj have posted Instagram proof that Gucci recently requested features from them; a request that Minaj turned down. Gucci, it emerges, seems even more unhinged over text message. Oh, and Drake is a male groupie who tries to be Gucci Mane by posting Vines. Gucci’s last Tweet simply reads “All men are born 2, die”, which is pretty ominous. Dude clearly needs help.

Update 4: Gucci Mane’s brother Young Throwback is claiming that Gucci’s Twitter was hacked, though he’s not exactly made a convincing case so far.

None of this, it’s worth noting, has stopped Gucci from continuing a prolific run of releases this year, with eight mixtapes and an album already – FACT’s John Twells has sifted through all of it to dig out the highlights.
