Sublabel lines up four releases over coming months.

London label Emotional Response is launching a new offshoot this month called Especial, with a handful of releases lined up for the coming months. Label boss Stuart Leath describes the venture as “not nu-disco in anyway, or house, but something in between.”

Operating in that hinterland between house and disco is Cage & Aviary’s Jamie Paton, who will deliver a four-track effort as the label’s opening salvo (hear snippets below), while the second release comes from Baris K with remixes from Khidja & Balabas and The Asphodells, aka producers Andrew Weatherall and Timothy J. Fairplay.

After that, expect a “ten-minute 303 monster” from Andy Blake and Fairplay and a collaborative EP from Richard Sen and Scott Fraser.

Especial is the second sublabel of Emotional Response to be launched this year, following the arrival of the Emotional Relish label run in collaboration with Headman of Relish Recordings. Especial’s first two releases have been available as white labels for some weeks, but the official releases with sleeves are due later this month. [via RA]
