“I don’t really hear a next one,” says the singer-songwriter.

In an interview with Nylon, controversy-magnet Lana Del Rey vacillated when asked about her follow-up to 2012’s Born To Die: “When people ask me about it, I just have to be honest–I really don’t know,” she says. “I don’t want to say, ‘Yeah, definitely–the next one’s better than this one,’ because I don’t really hear a next one. My muse is very fickle. She only comes to me sometimes, which is annoying.”

This is not the first time she’s made this claim, but she had reportedly returned to the studio earlier this year. This summer saw a string of leaked demos, but many seemed to predate Born To Die.

Last we heard, LDR was shooting a short film titled Tropico, which was set to feature music from ‘Bel Air’, ‘Body Electric’ and ‘Gods & Monsters’ (all taken from Del Rey’s Paradise EP) and actors playing Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and Jesus. No release date has been announced.
